On Tuesday, March 29 at 5:40am ET (9:40 UTC), China successfully launched the demo flight of Long March (Chang Zheng) 6A rocket from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center. This flight carried two satellites, Pujiang-2 and Tiankun 2. Pujiang-2 will be used for scientific research and land surveillance while Tiankun 2 will be used for experimental verification of space environment technology. Long March 6A is loosely based on Long March 6. Long March 6A is also the first Chinese rocket to have solid rocket boosters. This was the 32nd orbital launch attempt of 2022 and the 9th Long March 6 launch (including the original Long March 6).
