After two launch attempts on August 29 and September 3 and a cryogenic demonstration test to verify repairs. NASA decided to roll back the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket and the Orion spacecraft to the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB) to protect it from Hurricane Ian. The SLS remains at the VAB while NASA prepares it for its next launch attempt, currently targeted for November 14 at 12:07 am EDT with rollout back to Launch Complex 39B (LC-39B) on November 4. The Explorati0n Ground Systems (EGS) team is hard at work charging the flight batteries, CubeSat batteries, and Flight Termination System (FTS) batteries. Once work on the FTS is complete, it will be retested a few days prior to rollout. Keep updated on the status of the Artemis I mission on our Artemis Updates page.
